It is an honor to represent the people of New York’s 7th District in the United States Congress. I am working hard to ensure the security and prosperity of hard-working families, create jobs, improve our education system, and support and protect our veterans and seniors.

I want to keep up the fight to keep our nation strong, so please take a moment to read about my work in Congress and let me know your thoughts and ideas about how best to move our nation forward. Also, if you would like to help support my efforts, you can sign up to volunteer for, donate to or attend an upcoming event with my campaign.

Only with your help will I be able to continue serving my hometown community and working to keep our city, state and country healthy, safe and strong!

Sincerely,

Signature

Congressman Joe Crowley

The sound of construction cranes and drills filled the air as workers were busy building the future College Point Police Academy. It provided the perfect backdrop as one lawmaker announced a plan on Thursday to keep police officers, firefighters and teachers on the job.

Rep. Joe Crowley (D-Queens, Bronx) planned to introduce the Teachers and First Responders Back to Work Act this week. The bill would provide $70 billion in federal funding to states over the next two years, aiming to save or create thousands of jobs for teachers and first responders.

U.S. Rep. Joseph Crowley blasted a House Republican proposal to cut the Social Services Block Grant, saying the plan could mean senior centers in the city and across the country could be forced to close.

“I don’t think that this center is wasteful spending,” Crowley told a crowd of more than 150 at the Elmhurst-Jackson Heights Senior Center, at 75-01 Broadway in Elmhurst.
